We partner with all public bodies to modernize services, reduce duplication, and ensure that every Jamaican can benefit from a government that provides critical digital services 24-7, responsive, and future ready.
Amidst rapid global digital change, the Government of Jamaica acted swiftly on the need to broaden and redefine the scope and impact of its ICT operations. The journey to creating a future-ready organization to drive national digital transformation began in 2019 at the Ministry of Science, Energy and Technology (MSET). The new organization was to be established through a merger of the former eGov Jamaica Limited and the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO).
The entities transitioned to the ICT Authority on April 2, 2025, as a statutory body under the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) with a critical digital enablement and transformation mandate supported by legislation [ICT Authority Act (2019)]. We are an agile organization that has responded effectively to significant transformation throughout our history, transitioning from a single client operation as Fiscal Services Limited (1985-2013) to having responsibility for all of government as eGov Jamaica Limited.
We are proudly branded JAMICTA by staff. Guided by our core values, we are today the drivers of digital transformation to enhance public service delivery in Jamaica. Our main functions are:
– Providing shared services.
-Offering support and strategic guidance to MDAs to develop and implement ICT projects and initiatives.
-Establish and encouraging compliance to policies, standards and guidelines (PSGs).
-Streamlining and maximising the RoI on GoJ’s ICT spend.
Agile, Transparent, Secure: That’s us.
Adapting quickly to emerging technologies and policy shifts, we aim to deliver citizen-centric services to drive digital transformation.
