BUSINESS ARCHITECT

JOB PURPOSE

The Business Architect plays a key role in structuring the enterprise in terms of its governance structure, business processes and business information. The Business Architect leads the development of the Government of Jamaica (GoJ) Business Architecture, which forms a key part of the overall Enterprise Architecture (EA). The incumbent ensures alignment of strategic goals and objectives with decisions regarding products and services; partners and suppliers; organization; capabilities and key business and IT initiatives. The primary focus is business motivations, business operations, business analysis frameworks, and related networks that link these aspects of the enterprise together.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Defines and communicates business principles, strategy, standards and modelling guidelines.
  • Defines and maintains the business, architecture.
  • Develops and maintains business architecture frameworks, models, and documentation.
  • Performs gap analysis and makes recommendations for process improvement.
  • Serves as liaison between business stakeholders and IT teams to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Conducts business process analysis and design to streamline and optimize operations.
  • Conducts regular audits and assessments of business architecture adherence and effectiveness.
  • Contributes to the Enterprise Architecture Model, ensuring that there is alignment with the organisation’s strategic goals.
  • Provides architectural consulting expertise and assistance to Analysts, Engineers and other Architects.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or Information Technology.
  • Seven (7) years’ information technology experience.
  • Demonstrated experience leading business architecture across at least two major business transformation or change programmes, with a track record of developing capability models, and value stream maps.
  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g., TOGAF, CBAP).
  • Additional certifications in business architecture are highly desirable.
  • Solid understanding of project management principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of government regulations and policies related to information technology.

  • Change management awareness

The salary is J$8.51 million per annum plus any current allowances attached to this position.
