JOB PURPOSE:
Under the supervision of the Manager, Site Support, the Senior Site Support Engineer plays a key role in providing expert technical support to ensure the smooth operation of IT systems and infrastructure within the organization.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Installs, configures, and maintains hardware and software systems.
- Monitors and evaluates system performance to ensure efficient operation.
- Troubleshoots and resolves hardware, software, and network connectivity issues.
- Implements systems upgrades and patches to optimize performance.
- Develops and implements backup and recovery processes for data protection.
- Provides technical support and training to end-users on system usage.
- Conducts regular maintenance to ensure systems are up-to-date and secure.
- Manages user accounts and permissions to ensure data security.
- Performs systems audits to identify vulnerabilities and recommend improvements.
- Monitors network traffic and analyzes data for performance enhancements.
- Monitors Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems.
- Participates in disaster recovery planning and testing activities.
- Conducts system performance tests and optimizes configurations for efficiency,
- Manages system upgrades and migrations to newer platforms.
- Provides on-call support to address critical system issues outside of regular hours.
- Conducts periodic security assessments and vulnerability scans.
- Monitors server and network availability and performance.
- Troubleshoots and resolves issues related to network connectivity and bandwidth.
- Implements disaster recovery solutions to minimize downtime.
- Conducts regular security audits and addresses vulnerabilities.
- Provides training and guidance to end-users on best practices for system usage.
- Implements and maintains antivirus software and intrusion detection systems.
- Provides technical expertise in the evaluation of new IT solutions.
- Troubleshoots and resolves issues related to virtualization and cloud services.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
- Three (3) years’ related work experience.
- Professional certifications in CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+ Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA).
- The position is a travelling role. The successful candidate must possess a valid Driver’s Licence, possess a reliable motor vehicle, and be willing to travel daily to client locations in the performance of their duties.

The salary is J$4.82 million per annum plus any benefits attached to this position.
