The ICT Authority operates under the authority granted by the ICT Authority Act, which provides the legal framework for our operations and defines our responsibilities in advancing Jamaica’s digital agenda.
The organisation places a strong emphasis on work-life balance, recognizing it as a key factor in our overall success. Our paid internship programmes provide students with hands-on experience in various areas of Information and Communications Technology, including Networking, Data Centre Services, Network Security, and Cybersecurity. By applying classroom knowledge in real-world settings, participants gain a deeper understanding of industry operations and are better prepared for future employment. These internships play a vital role in bridging the gap between academic learning and practical application, while also helping students develop and master new skills. To support this initiative, the organization collaborates with a range of tertiary institutions. Applications for Internship are to be submitted through the Institutions.
Regular Internship Programme: Duration is semesterized i.e. intake is done in September, January and the Summer. Acceptance into the programme is geared towards students who are in their penultimate or final academic year.
Earn While You Learn (EWYL): Duration is an entire academic year. Acceptance into the programme is geared towards students who are in their, penultimate or final academic year.
